Hi Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well amidst all of the chaos going on in the world right now. I know I am especially looking forward to getting some “tractor time” soon as that has always somehow given me peace in difficult times. It seems spring is here, and game time is upon us, so I’ll keep this as short as possible.

Last year, we flew using an experimental camera setup using a telephoto lens to gather an “Ultra-High” (2 cm!) resolution image of a portion of the target field. This enabled us to determine stand counts and leaf stages for that particular spot. I personally found this very useful in putting the rest of the imagery into context! This year we added this camera and associated viewing software to our entire AirScout platform so everyone can get the same benefit. Our friend nick-named this “RifleShot” as it appeared we were looking through the scope of a high powered rifle.

Hopefully you will also find this helpful in understanding what’s going on in your fields. We were able to do this upgrade with no cost increase, so it is included in the standard $7.00 per acre subscription fee which covers the entire season (10-14 flights) and all the patented AirScout software tools on our website. I believe the extra context and intelligence this image provides will open even more doors for extracting value from the imagery. If you haven’t signed up yet, please contact us very soon. We have already begun flying, so don’t miss out on any more images! You can either contact me directly, or Bob (bobc@airscout.com) and we’ll get you set up and ready for the season.

As we head into the Easter weekend, I pray you can all find peace in what is really important in life. As farmers, we are probably exposed to more life and death cycles than most anyone else on the planet. I can still remember my first year of 4-H, and the heartbreak when it was time for my steer to go to market. Although it’s still never easy, faith is what keeps me going. Faith that this virus will pass. Faith that if I do become ill, I will survive. Or most importantly… faith that if I don’t, things will still be okay. Take care out there and have a Happy Easter!

Brian
