AirScout is currently enrolling new customers throughout the corn belt for the 2019 growing season. This includes areas throughout the Midwest states, namely, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, as well as some of Minnesota and Michigan.
AirScout® conducts season-long aerial surveys of farm fields using multispectral sensors via fixed wing aircraft that yield industry-leading high resolution Visual, Thermal, ADVI (their proprietary advanced field health index) and NDVI imagery. AirScout® Thermal™ Imagery provides intelligence regarding the health of the crop throughout the growing season, and allows farmers to make advanced, proactive management decisions weeks before real damage is done. Results are delivered to the growers the day after collection (less than 24 hours) and are available via both web and mobile platforms.
Bare soil analysis prior to planting using ADVI and Thermal imagery allows farmers to discern variations in soil quality. Highly refined AirScripts™ prescription zones for multi-hybrid and variable population planting strategy and in-season input applications can be generated using the AirScout Prescription Tool™ in the app. The AirScout® Access App provides mobile custom GPS maps that guide ground truth scouting at the precise locations of problematic areas – and includes cloud connectivity between aerial imagery data and scouting results. AirScout’s Yield Predictor generates easy and highly accurate yield estimates on a field level. The AirScout program is available on a season-long subscription basis. The deadline to enroll and ensure full season coverage is March 15th.

In addition to AirScout’s season-long program that enables farmers and agronomists to actively manage their fields and make strategic decisions, AirScout® offers an array of custom application services with the AirScout® Edition Hagie machine by John Deere. The specially designed applicator (dual product, both liquid and dry) is capable of prescription-based pre and post-emergence applications, side-dress nitrogen applications, late season (through full height corn) nitrogen and foliar fungicide applications using Y-drops, and dual species cover crop planting. With AirScout’s Hindsight Nitrogen Management Program, split early season nitrogen applications combined with a final prescription application at pollination using the Hagie can reduce total nitrogen input by up to 20% – which reduces costs, improves yield, and reduces impact on the environment. The prescription zone for the final nitrogen application is generated from the AirScout® Prescription Tool™ using patented thermal imagery. More information on the AirScout® Edition Hagie application services can be found at www.airscout.com/application. Contact: Dan Sutton Dan@airscout.com.
